Foot and Mouth Disease Vaccine, Inactivated (Type O, Strain O/Mya98/XJ/2010+ Strain O/GX/09-7)
【Main Ingredients】It contains inactivated swine foot-and-mouth disease type O virus O/GX/09-7 strain and Southeast Topotype Strain O/Mya98/XJ/2010. The virus content should be at least 107.0TCID50 per ml or 107.0LD50 per 0.2ml before inactivation. The efficacy of each dose of vaccine against strain O/Mya98/XJ/2010 and strain O/GX/09-7 should be at least 6PD50. Each dose of vaccine should contain at least 600ng of each virus strain.
【Properties】Light pink or milky white slightly viscous emulsion.
【Indication】It is used to prevent the FMD type O in pigs. The duration of immunity is 6 months.
【Administration and Dosage】Intramuscular injection behind the ear base. For 10-25 kg pigs, 1ml (1/2 dose) per head; for pigs over 25 kg, 2ml (1 dose) per head.
【Adverse reactions】General reactions: swelling at the injection site, transient temperature reaction, food reduction or suspension for 1 to 2 days, the symptoms will gradually relieve over time, and return to normal after 3 days of vaccination. Severe reactions: Due to the breeds and individuals difference, some animals may have acute allergic reaction after vaccination, such as anxiety, rapid breathing, muscle tremor, visible mucous membrane congestion, vomiting, nasal bleeding, etc., which may cause death if not rescued in time; a few pregnant sows may have abortion.
【Precautions】
(1) Vaccines should be transported under refrigeration at 2-8℃, freezing is strictly prohibited, and direct sunlight should be avoided during transportation and use. The vaccine should be brought back to room temperature and shaken well before use.
(2) Check whether the vaccine traits are normal before injection, and conduct strict physical inspection on pigs. Pregnant sows and pigs under stress after long-distance transportation should not be injected for the time being and should be injected only after they recover to normal. The injection equipment, suction operation and injection site should be strictly disinfected, and ensure that the needle is changed once for one pig. When injecting, the depth of the needle injected should be moderate, and it should be injected into the muscle behind the ear base (intra-muscular multi-point injection method should be considered when large- dosage is applied).
(3) Injections must be carried out by professionals to prevent injection failure. Vaccination personnel should strictly inspect: physical examination of pigs, disinfection and injection depth, and post-injection observation.
(4) When the vaccine is used in the infected area, it must be injected into the safe area (herd) first, then the threatened area (herd), and finally the infected area (herd). In the process of vaccine injection, disinfection of the environment should be done, and only after 21 days of vaccine injection should the herds be transported.
(5) Personnel must be technically trained before vaccination and strictly follow the operation procedures. Only after changing clothes, shoes and hats and carrying out the necessary disinfection can they participate in vaccination. Intramuscular spot injection method should be recommended for pigs below 25kg.
(6) Record well in the process of vaccine use.
(7) Contaminants such as used vaccine bottles, utensils and unused vaccines must be disinfected or deeply buried.
(8) Immunization is one of the measures to prevent and control FMD in pigs, while immunization should be accompanied by biosafety precautions such as disinfection, isolation and lockdown should be taken at the same time.
(9) Use with caution for sows in late pregnancy.
(10) When a severe allergic reaction occurs, desensitization with epinephrine or dexamethasone can be used to rescue the patient.
